- Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
- The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
- The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.

Identification
- The consistent choice to become, experience, or otherwise hold onto a particular form or structure.
- The impulse to form and maintain an identity.
- A contraction of the I that involves a corresponding contraction of awareness around an object of attention, which results in having a sense of self as the object of attention and a sense of other being everything else.
- Fixation upon a specific form to such an extent that one experiences being the object of fixed attention.
- Fixation upon a specific form to such an extent that one experiences being defined and limited by the object of fixed attention.
- Fixation upon a specific opinion, perspective, or point of view to such an extent that the opinion, perspective, or point of view comes to define and limit the one who is thus fixated.
- Sustained focus on anything that seems to be less than the totality of the I, which is THE SUPREME.
- To the extent that there is awareness of the act of choosing to identify, identification is an expression of the freedom to become. To the extent that there is not awareness of the act of choosing to identify, identification seems to be a lack of freedom.
- Identification gives rise to and sustains the unreal experience of separation.
- Identification leads to forgetfulness of being Divinity/God/Source.
- Identification leads to forgetfulness of being THE SUPREME.
