Table of Contents for Root Meanings

General notes:

  • Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
  • The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
  • The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.
  • Many excellent and useful definitions are not yet included. If you would like to make a suggestion, you may do so here.
  • If you find Root Meanings to be helpful, please considering sponsoring this work or making a donation. Your support helps to ensure that the definitions will continue to be refined and offered free of charge to the world.
  • The intention is to distribute Root Meanings under a suitable Creative Commons license before the end of the decade. In the meantime, unless otherwise noted, all works in progress and the final work are copyright Jeff Vander Clute.

Evil

  • An extreme distortion of Supreme Goodness, which has no opposite.
  • Unloving action.
  • Unloving action taken in delusion.
  • Unloving action taken in fear.
  • Unloving action taken in ignorance of the reality of oneness.
  • Unloving action taken in profound confusion.
  • Unloving action taken in unawakeness.
  • Evil cannot arise in awakeness.
  • Evil is not present in reality.
  • In clarity, there can be no misapplication of will. In awakeness, there can be no action that is unloving and out of alignment with life.
  • Though evil is unreal, it can be experienced.
  • Though unreal, evil is experienced to the extent that it is believed.
  • To the extent that evil seems to occur, that is evidence of believing in evil.
  • To the extent that there is a collective belief in evil, the collective experiences evil.
  • Since THE SUPREME is indivisible, to believe in good and evil as separate and opposed produces the experience of being cast out of the Supreme Abode, metaphorically speaking.
