Table of Contents for Root Meanings

General notes:

  • Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
  • The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
  • The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.
  • Many excellent and useful definitions are not yet included. If you would like to make a suggestion, you may do so here.
  • If you find Root Meanings to be helpful, please considering sponsoring this work or making a donation. Your support helps to ensure that the definitions will continue to be refined and offered free of charge to the world.
  • The intention is to distribute Root Meanings under a suitable Creative Commons license before the end of the decade. In the meantime, unless otherwise noted, all works in progress and the final work are copyright Jeff Vander Clute.

History

  • A projection of indivisible oneness into past events that seem to be inaccessible and unchangeable.
  • A projection of indivisible oneness into past events that seem to be removed from the present moment and separated in time.
  • A repository of buried experience and wisdom.
  • A series of remembered events.
  • A story of beings wandering in unreality.
  • History consists of layers of memory of experience and wisdom that are deposited over time, with earlier layers being progressively more difficult to access.
  • History is mutable as past, present, and future co-arise as one in each instant and can be reimagined and re-remembered in countless ways.
  • History is remembered imperfectly.
  • As there is no past in reality, history is a story of unreality.
  • Ultimately, history is a story of beings experiencing and awakening from the delusion of separation.
  • As the Mind that is all minds is healed, the whole pattern of separation heals, and all historical circumstances are reconciled and dissolved until they disappear.
  • History is transcended as ego is transcended.
  • History is transcended as linear cause and effect is transcended.
  • History is transcended as the belief in separation is transcended.

Sayings:

  • “To learn from history is to awaken from history.”
