Table of Contents for Root Meanings

General notes:

  • Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
  • The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
  • The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.
  • Many excellent and useful definitions are not yet included. If you would like to make a suggestion, you may do so here.
  • If you find Root Meanings to be helpful, please considering sponsoring this work or making a donation. Your support helps to ensure that the definitions will continue to be refined and offered free of charge to the world.
  • The intention is to distribute Root Meanings under a suitable Creative Commons license before the end of the decade. In the meantime, unless otherwise noted, all works in progress and the final work are copyright Jeff Vander Clute.

Universe

  • A space in which sentient beings dwell.
  • An environment for experiencing, learning, and creating.
  • An environment for experimentation and exploration.
  • An environment for experiencing embodiment and incarnation.
  • An environment for having experiences of being a sentient being.
  • An environment for learning and remembering what is real and true.
  • An environment for remembering Divinity/God/Source.
  • An environment for remembering THAT which YOU are.
  • An outpicturing in which Divinity/God/Source experiences Divinity/God/Source.
  • A universe is a being in which sentient beings dwell.
  • A universe is a thought within Supreme Mind.
  • Physical universes are spaces of localized energy and time.
  • Nonphysical universes are realms of nonlocalized consciousness.
  • In different universes, space and time may function differently. In some universes, there is no time.
  • Though appearances may suggest otherwise, all universes are infinite.
  • All universes are contained within Supreme Mind.
  • The set of all universes may be called the multiverse.
  • Universes are “sandboxes” for learning and remembering in which no actual harm is possible.
  • The universe always provides what is requested. However, to the extent that sentient beings are confused, the experiences provided reflect this confusion.
  • As beliefs are implicit requests, the universe provides experiences that tend to confirm what sentient beings believe.
  • One who is supremely realized has the capacity to create universes consciously.
  • One whose realization is not yet complete experiences being in a universe.
  • Eventually all discover that they are, in fact, continuously creating the universe that they experience.

Sayings:

  • “The universe always provides exactly what is requested.”
  • “The universe is exactly what YOU believe it is.”
