- The natural preference for comfort and enjoyment.
- Unconscious desire is the seeking of enjoyment rooted in separation.
- Awakened desire is the seeking of liberation from suffering and unconsciousness.
- Awakened desire is the seeking to know reality.
- Awakened desire is the seeking of Truth, which brings bliss.
- Supreme Desire is the desire to know Supreme Reality.
