Table of Contents for Root Meanings

General notes:

  • Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
  • The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
  • The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.
  • Many excellent and useful definitions are not yet included. If you would like to make a suggestion, you may do so here.
  • If you find Root Meanings to be helpful, please considering sponsoring this work or making a donation. Your support helps to ensure that the definitions will continue to be refined and offered free of charge to the world.
  • The intention is to distribute Root Meanings under a suitable Creative Commons license before the end of the decade. In the meantime, unless otherwise noted, all works in progress and the final work are copyright Jeff Vander Clute.

Awakening

  • A shift in perception from unreality to reality.
  • A shift in perception from finitude and separateness to infinitude and oneness.
  • Reorientation from unreality to reality. (This is also the root meaning of healing. Awakening and healing are fundamentally the same process.)
  • The process of realizing true nature.
  • The process of realizing what is real and true.
  • The process of releasing resistance to Divinity/God/Source.
  • The process of releasing resistance to being Divinity/God/Source.
  • The process of releasing resistance to THE SUPREME.
  • The process of releasing resistance to being THE SUPREME.
  • The process of remembering Divinity/God/Source.
  • The process of remembering being Divinity/God/Source.
  • The process of remembering THE SUPREME.
  • The process of remembering being THE SUPREME.
  • The process of remembering true nature.
  • The process of remembering what is real and true.
  • The process of reorienting from unreality to reality.
  • Awakening follows naturally from releasing resistance to Divinity/God/Source.
  • Awakening follows naturally from releasing resistance to being Divinity/God/Source.
  • Awakening follows naturally from releasing resistance to THE SUPREME.
  • Awakening follows naturally from releasing resistance to being THE SUPREME.
  • Awakening is the illusory ending of an illusory state of unconsciousness.
  • Awakening tends to happen in stages as resistance to Divinity/God/Source, and ultimately to being Divinity/God/Source, is released.
  • Awakening tends to happen in stages as resistance to THE SUPREME, and ultimately resistance to being THE SUPREME, is released.
  • Awakening is transcended in the total recognition of THAT which YOU are.
  • Awakening is transcended when unawakeness is totally forgotten.
  • In apex awakeness, awakening is totally transcended as there can be no unawakeness.

Sayings:

  • “Only awakeness is. Awakening is opening to what is. An awakening moment is opening to this moment.”
  • “What is the true cost of awakening? Everything we hold on to that isn’t true.”
