Table of Contents for Root Meanings

General notes:

  • Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
  • The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
  • The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.
  • Many excellent and useful definitions are not yet included. If you would like to make a suggestion, you may do so here.
  • If you find Root Meanings to be helpful, please considering sponsoring this work or making a donation. Your support helps to ensure that the definitions will continue to be refined and offered free of charge to the world.
  • The intention is to distribute Root Meanings under a suitable Creative Commons license before the end of the decade. In the meantime, unless otherwise noted, all works in progress and the final work are copyright Jeff Vander Clute.

Complexity

  • An experience of the infinite interconnectedness of all that is.*
  • An experience of the infinite intricacy of the processes of creation.*
  • The involution, convolution, and evolution of the Infinite encountering Itself through the processes of creation.*
  • The nondeterministic and typically noncomputable interactions among many individual beings and/or factors.
  • The behavior that arises from nondeterministic and typically noncomputable interactions among many individual beings and/or factors.
  • The condition in which the future state of a system cannot be reliably predicted based on the current state.
  • Complexity is a condition for emergence.
  • Complexity is characterized by interdependence, feedback loops, nondeterminism, and nonlinearity.
  • Complexity is correlated with the presence of “free will” in a system.
  • To understand complexity completely, one must realize infinite reality.
  • The science of complexity leads to the realization of the Infinite.
  • The science of complexity leads to the realization of Divinity/God/Source.
  • The science of complexity leads to the realization of THE SUPREME.
  • The Infinite operates unnoticed through complexity.
  • Divinity/God/Source operates unnoticed through complexity.
  • THE SUPREME operates unnoticed through complexity.

Sayings:

  • “Complexity is simple. Simplicity is complex.”
  • “Increasing complexity is divine emergence. The simplicity on the other side of complexity is divine realization.”
  • “What makes complexity complex is the Infinite expressing in apparent finitude.”
  • “When a system becomes sufficiently complex, it becomes a vehicle for the Divine.”
