Table of Contents for Root Meanings

General notes:

  • Root Meanings is a work in progress that will continue to emerge and evolve. All entries are subject to evolution.
  • The entries in Root Meanings have been sourced and refined until they calibrate all the way for truth. Older entries may need to be updated for this to be the case.
  • The primary criterion for inclusion in Root Meanings is calibration for truth. These entries are not intended to be consistent with any pre-existing spiritual teachings or traditions. The entries in Root Meanings may differ from or go beyond widely accepted teachings. Moreover, some of what has been sourced may be novel.
  • Many excellent and useful definitions are not yet included. If you would like to make a suggestion, you may do so here.
  • If you find Root Meanings to be helpful, please considering sponsoring this work or making a donation. Your support helps to ensure that the definitions will continue to be refined and offered free of charge to the world.
  • The intention is to distribute Root Meanings under a suitable Creative Commons license before the end of the decade. In the meantime, unless otherwise noted, all works in progress and the final work are copyright Jeff Vander Clute.

Bodymind

  • The body and the mind together as one.
  • The local body, including the brain, and the nonlocal mind together as one.
  • The indivisible single system of the body and the mind.
  • The body is not separate from the mind and cannot be understood or healed separately from the mind.
  • The body is in the mind. The mind pervades the entire body. The body is the manifestation of beliefs in the mind.
  • The whole of manifestation is the universal bodymind. The body of the universe is the manifestation of an idea in the Mind.

Sayings:

  • “Body and mind are one.”
  • “Healing the mind is healing the body. Healing the body is healing the mind.”
