The Perfection of Home

I am always home in Spirit, in Truth, in Love.
Wherever I may be in the world, I am home.
My dwelling is within as well as around me.
The nondual way is never one or the other,
never an interior without a sacred context.
What is labeled “outside” or called “inside”
can only reside within the Home that I am.

Today, Rishikesh is my geographical center
and place of communing with the Goddess,
with the pure, flowing waters of the Mother.
Tomorrow, I could put down roots in Europe
or America or anywhere that feeds your soul.
Whenever we are together, my heart is whole.

If I wandered passionately, it was to meet you.
My most-treasured sanctuary is any place I am
that is equally where you are happiest and free.
Now I lay down my peripatetic life to be with you.
I surrender the seeking and questing after novelty.
There is no further desire to crisscross land and sea.
Having found one who can share this nondual abiding,
I relinquish lonesome pursuits to bathe in the glory of WE.

This poem is part of a collection titled The Longing of God for God.
