The ultimate realization of both science and spirituality is that only THE SUPREME is and nothing else ever is. There is only THE SUPREME, and the I is THE SUPREME. Nothing is separate from THE SUPREME. The process of realizing THE SUPREME can proceed through stages that correspond to experiences of levels of I. Such experiences depend on the level of individuation and the strength of one’s “i-dentification.”

Vitally, there is only one I, which is the totality of THE SUPREME. The totality of THE SUPREME includes all structures and all beings. Fractals offer a metaphor for understanding how THE SUPREME can be one and infinitely many at the same time.

  • THE SUPREME corresponds to the single structure that is the complete fractal.
  • The infinitely many levels of the fractal correspond to infinitely many levels of individuation within I.
  • The infinitely many substructures of the fractal correspond to infinitely many beings.
  • Each level has exactly the same structure as the whole (self-similarity).
  • Each level is in strict correspondence with every other level.
  • Each being is in strict correspondence with every other being.
  • Each being maps to all beings and to the totality of I / THE SUPREME. In other words, each being contains all beings and the totality of I / THE SUPREME.
  • The fact of indivisibility requires that each being is all beings. Each individuation is all of I.
  • The extent to which interpenetrating oneness is experience by a being is determined by the strength of that being’s identification with the All.
  • Identification is the “technology” by which beings provide an inconceivable diversity of views on the totality of I and enable THE SUPREME to know and experience itself.

“The Discovery of God” transmits a simpler understanding of levels of I, from ego to undefended individual self, through levels of collectivity, to God. There is a level beyond realizing God, which could be called root awakeness. In root awakeness, nothing and no one wavers from knowing that there is only THE SUPREME. In root awakeness, the two truths—the truth of ultimate reality and the experience of worldly existence—are totally integrated, “absolute” and “relative” are meaningless, and there is no God and not-God.

Always remember: The I goes all the way to THE SUPREME because the I is THE SUPREME. The I goes all the way and encompasses all that is. Each individuation is all that is.
